“Shades of Silence”

Silence is a carefree daisy…

We sit side by side,
The odd smile exchanged,
But, no words required,

Silence is a thorny rose…

I can’t read his expression,
How is he feeling,
About my confession?

Silence is a wilting orchid…

There is nothing to say,
We’re like strangers now,
Just sharing a space,

Silence is a solemn lily…

He lies in eternal sleep,
Too late for words,
Our separation is complete.
